The Animated Series' Showrunner Has Seen Fans' Second Season Bingo Cards — And She Has Good News

The much-anticipated Season 2 of the adult animated musical series Hazbin Hotel launches on the streaming platform soon, and audience theories has been widespread.

The first season presents a diverse group of personalities residing in Hell and Heaven, pits them against each other accompanied by musical numbers about their clashes, and establishes heated competitions and emotional bonds that drive fan obsession.

The fandom's stated hopes for season 2 vary widely, but certain themes recur frequently: Could Angel Dust break free from Valentino? Will we find out more about the binding agreement affecting the enigmatic Alastor? Might certain characters' relationships evolve?

"Naturally, I don't make the show with fan service as the main goal," the creator commented earlier this year. "But I feel like me being a fan of my own show means there's a lot of it just inherently. I also am eager for these things, and I want some of these things to happen, and obviously some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

She reveals her big-picture plan is for a five-season run of Hazbin Hotel. Future installments have already been green-lit by Prime Video and A24, which finance the series.

That might mean viewers have to wait years for some of the major resolutions — but they could be shocked at how quickly the new season progresses, and how many of what they're waiting for unfolds this season.

"I believe people are going to get a lot out of it," she adds. "There are several debut moments. I think we get some really amazing disclosures, some fascinating origin tales, and even just simple things, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] We're going to hear much more singing from the previously silent cast members."

She's certainly aware of the guesses and hopes about the upcoming season — particularly in the format of fan bingo cards.

"I've seen a couple people make a bingo card about the new season," she says. "Obviously I won't share it, but I've actually done some of them, and nearly every one of them have almost a bingo. I was like, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that makes me think we accomplish much [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I was like, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that makes me happy."

Hazbin Hotel the second season premieres on Prime Video on October 29.
